EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT

The Zone Training is once again taking hockey development to a new level in the tri-cities area and is very excited by this announcement.

The Zone will be adding a brand new Blade Rink training apparatus into their 22,000 sq ft training facility which already features a real 110’ x 50’ ice pad, weight room, turf field and team meeting rooms. This combination Skating Treadmill and Snipe Pad is the first to be installed in all of Canada! The Blade Rink will be exclusive to the Zone Training facility and the KW, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding areas.

In January 2010 this training apparatus will be installed and is very unique as the treadmill will actually be fitted right into a slightly raised synthetic ice training pad. A 40’ x 16’ training surface with boards and glass will be installed around the treadmill therefore offering endless training opportunities.

With this concept, players will not only get all the benefits that the treadmill has to offer, however they will be able to take dryland skate training to another level as they can actually be working on stick handling, shooting and passing while skating on the treadmill. The Blade Mill also allows players to stick handle with a puck on the actual skating surface of the treadmill, something not featured on other machines.

Along with the treadmill comes the software technology known as Dart Fish. Players are filmed during all sessions and instantaneously the video is projected onto an LCD TV screen which allows players instant feedback on their skating stride. This state-of-the-art technology will provide players with a very unique training atmosphere and with corrections from our instructor partnered with different “on-screen” tools, there will no doubt be immediate improvements in players skating skills.

This machine is arguably the best on the market so much that the Toronto Maple Leafs are installing the exact same treadmill in their state-of-the-art training center in Scarborough Ontario in December.
