Learn To Skate - March

Rink 1 - Learn to Skate (March, 6-weeks) - $135

This 6-week comprehensive program uses interactive games to teach children fundamental skating skills. Children are required to wear CSA approved helmet with cage or face mask and skates. There is a maximum of 14 students with 4 instructors for sessions held on Rink 1 (110 x 50'). All sessions are 40 minutes.

Note: There are no specific age groups for the sessions in this program because we prefer to group kids by ability. Children in our Learn to Skate program are typically 3-8 years old.

Level 1 classes are for children who have limited or no skating experience. We teach children how to stand up, balance, move forward, take strides and stop (snow plow). Skating aids (i.e. "pushers") are available for those who require them.

Level 2 classes are for children who have experience with Level 1 skills and can move around the ice fairly efficiently on their own without a skating aid (i.e. "pusher").  We teach children how to lengthen their strides, complete power stops, turn and skate backwards.
Level 2 Prerequisite Skills: complete stride(s) with one or both feet, body control allowing them to stop or turn to avoid crashing.

Note: Our instructors may contact you to move your child to a different level if necessary.
